Tactics Board

Tactics board software that does not stop at the drawing

Most board tools give you a pitch and some arrows. Teloframe gives you the pitch, the animation, the 3D view, the export that fits where it lands, and the drill and session planner it feeds afterwards. Open it without an account.

What you get, stated plainly

Every number on this page is read off the live product. Nothing here is a roadmap item.

29 built-in formations

4-3-3, 4-2-3-1, 3-5-2, 4-1-4-1, 5-3-2 and everything between. Applied to home and away independently, so you can set your shape against theirs.

13 drawing tools

Arrows, curves, arcs, zones, freehand, text, plus a shape tool that joins players into a defensive line, a multi-arrow, a spotlight and a highlight ring that tracks a player.

40 pre-authored patterns

Build-up and final-third scenes drawn by hand, ready to load onto your board with your own colours and pitch styling intact.

Synced 2D and 3D

The same document rendered two ways. Six camera modes, custom waypoint paths, a stadium shell and rigged players. Free on every plan.

A real animation timeline

Keyframes, named phases and seven easings, plus per-segment authoring: who carries the ball, whether it rolls, is driven or lofted, and the route each runner takes.

Coaching overlays, free

Thirds, five lanes, half spaces, zone 14, corner delivery zones and analyst grids. They teach positional ideas, so they are not behind a paywall.

From blank pitch to something your players have seen

Four moves, the same path every tactic takes inside Teloframe.

Step 1

Load a shape

Pick one of 29 formations, or start from one of the 40 patterns if you want a position rather than a blank pitch.

Step 2

Draw the idea

Runs, passes, triggers, zones, defensive lines. Every mark takes colour, width, opacity, dash style and fill, and can be limited to the frames it explains.

Step 3

Animate it

Set keyframes, name the phases, author each segment. Ghost trails, onion skin and player paths show the whole move while it is paused.

Step 4

Ship it

Export PNG, GIF or MP4 in the frame it is going into, present it on the room screen, publish it to the library or hand it to the drill editor.

Where the free plan actually stops

A board tool that hides the useful half behind a card is not a board tool. Here is the honest line.

The reasons coaches stop opening the old tool

Not the headline features. The small things that decide whether you keep it open on a Tuesday night.

Two undo stacks, 50 steps each

Drawings and player positions keep separate histories. Undoing a stray line never teleports your back four, which is the single most annoying thing about generic canvas tools.

Board-only mode

One key hides every panel for the meeting room screen. Presenter view goes further with a separate branded URL you can throw on the projector.

Exports rendered locally

GIF and MP4 are encoded in your browser. Nothing uploads, nothing queues, nothing sits on a render farm waiting for you.

Downgrades do not break boards

Paying gates authoring a look, never possessing one. If a subscription lapses, boards you already styled keep their styling and stay editable.

A board is not the end of the job

The thing that separates a tactics board from a drawing app is what happens to the drawing afterwards.

It becomes a drill

Save the board as a drill and every player, annotation and keyframe carries into the drill editor, where you add setup notes, equipment and coaching points.

It becomes a session

Drills land in the session planner, so the shape you drew on Monday is on the pitch on Tuesday with a timing and a load attached.

It becomes the squad's

Boards live in a team and a club workspace rather than in one coach's downloads folder, with a shared library everyone can pull from.

Tactics board FAQs

The questions coaches, analysts and creators ask before switching from a whiteboard or a legacy board app.

Do I need an account to use the tactics board?
No. Open /board and start drawing. Formations, drawing tools, the pattern library, the pitch presets, the animation timeline and the 3D view all work signed out, and a local autosave keeps your work through a refresh. You need an account to save a board to the cloud, publish it, or export a GIF or MP4.
What does it cost, and what is actually free?
Free covers the whole board: 29 formations, all 13 drawing tools, 40 patterns, 16 pitch presets, every coaching overlay, the six built-in board themes and the full 3D view, plus unlimited saved boards and keyframes. Free exports are HD and carry a watermark, animations are capped at 15 seconds, and 3D video export is not included. Pro is 12 a month and lifts all of those, adds your own branding and saved themes, custom formations and 90-second clips. Club is 39 a month and adds live co-editing, a club-wide default theme and 180-second clips.
What export formats does the tactics board support?
PNG for a single frame, GIF for a looping animation, and MP4 for video. Six frame presets cover 16:9, 1:1, 4:5 and 9:16, or you set your own dimensions and save them for next time. The pitch is cropped to fill the frame, and vertical exports auto-frame the action rather than squashing a landscape shot. Free exports are HD and watermarked; Pro and Club export at 4K class with a clean frame and can export video from the 3D view.
Can multiple coaches edit the same board in real time?
Yes, on the Club plan. Save the tactic, start a collaboration session and invite your staff. Everyone works on the same board with live cursors and selection rings, roles control who edits and who watches, and the owner can end the session for the room. On Free and Pro you can still publish a board to the public library so anyone can open and fork it.
Is there AI on the tactics board?
No, and we would rather say so than imply otherwise. The 40 patterns in the library are hand-authored tactical scenes, not generated ones. Teloframe does use AI elsewhere in the product, for review prep and match debriefs, and in those places it summarises evidence you logged and never writes the coaching judgement.
Does the tactics board work on mobile?
The board is built for desktop and tablet, where the drawing tools, the timeline and the 3D view have room. On a phone the layout collapses to a single column with the squad and tool rails as drawers, which is workable for reviewing and light editing rather than authoring a full animation.
