Finishing drills for U11-U12

Finish the rebound first time. Time the run to arrive as the ball returns and strike it cleanly and low in a single motion.

Create it without an overload. Use movement and disguise to unbalance an equal defence, then combine to get a runner in behind and finish.

Use the extra man to finish. Draw a defender out, combine to get a runner in behind, and finish against the keeper.

Move, then finish first time. Drag the marker, spin in behind, and strike the through ball first time on the run.

Turn a live defender and finish. Protect the ball, touch away from the pressure, turn quickly, and finish low before he recovers.

Lose your marker and finish the square ball. Peel off the defender, get across him and arrive first to finish first-time at the far post.

Lift it over the keeper. Run onto the ball, look up, and chip it softly up and over him into the net with a stabbing touch under the ball.

Strike it clean under pressure. Judge the bounce, get the body over it, and hit the half-volley quickly and cleanly before the defender blocks.

Groove the knockdown. The target heads the gentle ball down into space; the runner times the arrival and finishes into the mini-goal.

Head it down, then finish the knockdown. The target attacks the long ball and heads it down into space; the runner reads it and finishes.

Volley it first time into the corner. Judge the flight early, get your body over the ball, and strike through the middle of it with a firm, controlled contact.

Turn away from the defender and finish. Protect the ball with your body, feel the marker, and spin off his blind side before finishing across the keeper.

Receive, turn and finish. Take the first touch across your body to open toward goal, spin sharply, and finish low into the corner before the keeper is set.

Finish it first time on the skid. Get in line early, keep the contact low over the ball, and pass it firmly across the keeper into the far corner, no heavy touch to compose.

Set it and finish low across the keeper. Take a positive first touch across your body, then pass the ball firmly into the far corner, low and away from the keeper.

Volley the return cleanly into the mini-goal. Read the flight off the board, get the feet set, and strike through the ball with a controlled contact.

Dink it first time. Read the keeper as you run on, and lift the ball over him first time with a soft, judged contact.

Strike it clean on the half-volley. Judge the bounce, get your body over the ball, and hit through the top of it to keep it down into the corner.
