Finishing drills for U11-U12

FIFA's finishing drill that grows every rep: a three-touch 1v1, a second 1v1, then 2v2 and 3v3 with a recovering defender. Setup, coaching points, video.

One server, one mannequin, one finisher. No pattern to remember, which is what makes it the right drill when the two touches themselves are the problem.

The opening exchange is two or three metres, so close to the mannequin that a heavy touch ends the move. Everything after it depends on that one.

Very few finishing exercises run without a coach, a server or a teammate. That is the real argument for a rebounder, and it has limits.

Sole-of-the-foot control is not a stylistic flourish. On a hard floor with a low-bounce ball it is how a pivot keeps the ball at all.

A combination finishing drill: play it wide, into the centre, set it back, then a through ball for a timed curved run across the mannequins and a finish.
