Finishing drills for U13-U14

Time the run to beat the offside line. Stay level with the last defender, break as the ball is played, get in behind, and finish past the keeper.

Finish an air ball first time. Read the flight early, get into line, lock the ankle, and strike through the middle of the ball with the laces, keeping the volley down and on target.

Win the aerial battle and volley it. Time the run across your marker, attack the dropping ball first, and keep the contact clean under pressure.

Execute a complete attacking move end to end. Switch the play to change the point of attack, combine on the flank with an overlap, deliver a quality cross, and finish, with timing and quality on every phase.

Win the aerial duel and knock it down. Hold the defender off, attack the ball at its highest point, and head it down into the runner despite the challenge.

Combine at one touch and finish first time. Play each pass firm and accurate, time the third-man run behind the line, and sweep the finish first time without breaking the rhythm.

Finish with a chip over an advancing keeper. Read the keeper coming out, stay composed, and lift the ball over him with a soft, stabbed contact rather than blasting it.
