Shooting drills for U9-U10

Time the run and strike the square ball first-time. Arrive as the ball is squared across the box, and strike through it into the corner.

Pick a corner and finish. From a comfortable angle, take a controlled touch, pick a corner, and strike firmly across the keeper.

Strike from distance on the move. Take a positive touch forward to set a clean strike, drive through the middle of the ball, and keep the long-range shot low and on target.

Meet the gentle feed and volley it in. Get your body over the ball, still head, and a clean contact into the bigger target.

Receive, open up and bend it into the far corner of the mini-goal. Focus on the set-up touch and wrapping the foot around the ball, with a clear target and no keeper.

Groove the first-time strike. Time the run onto the lay-off, plant the standing foot, and place a clean first-time strike into the mini-goal.

Shoot in stride. Carry at goal, take a touch that sets the ball slightly ahead, and strike it cleanly on the run into the corner without breaking stride.

Groove the half-volley. With a slow, high serve, set the feet, watch it drop, and strike it clean on the half-volley.

Finish first time with a curled inside-foot shot into the far corner. Time the run to meet the square ball in stride, open the body, and bend it away from the keeper with placement and pace.

Strike a driven shot cleanly and repeatably. Set the ball with the first touch, plant the standing foot, make contact through the laces, and keep it low and on target.

Finish with placement, not power. Set the ball, pick a corner, and side-foot it accurately past the keeper with a still head and an open body.
